Digital Lëtzebuerg – Leading the way towards a digital nation
The rise of digitization and the accelerated transformation of the society that it engenders is one of today’s realities that the Government aims to turn into an opportunity for the country as well as its citizens.
The political objective is clear: use digitization as a lever for transformation, – for the Government as well as for its citizens and businesses – to prepare Luxembourg for the future and benefit from the huge potential that innovation and new technologies offer.
The aim of the initiative “Digital Lëtzebuerg” is not only to respond rapidly and with agility to this profound ongoing transformation, but also to guide and shape this transformation by evolving Luxembourg into an ultra-connected, innovative and dynamic place; in short, a world-leading digital nation.
Since its launch in October 2014, many concrete actions have emerged from the “Digital Lëtzebuerg” initiative. Initiated alternately by the public and the private sector, these actions help to create a favorable framework for the accelerated development of digitization. “Digital Lëtzebuerg” is thus as much a way to stimulate collaboration between the Government and the private sector as it is a tool to identify development areas and seize opportunities heavily processed by the digital boom.
Priority themes include – but are not limited to – the development of telecom infrastructure, digital skills, support for innovation and start-up creation, the evolution of the Financial Services sector (FinTech), e-government, e-health, the adaptation of legislation to the current technological landscape, smart mobility and the valorization of Digital Creative Industries.
